Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a collaborative group of parents, teachers, administrators, and other concerned adults who discuss ways to promote quality education, strive to expand the arts, encourage community involvement, and work for a healthy environment and safe neighborhoods. PTA is the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation. The latest study on effective schools reports that 75% of those effective schools had a PTA unit.
Lockport has a PTA unit associated with each of our schools, starting with Kindergarten. We also have a Council PTA which is formed by delegates from each of our 7 unit PTA's. The council meets regularly with our Superintendent to exchange information about our school district and our PTA's. Membership in a Lockport unit PTA also makes you a member of the Lockport Council PTA, the Niagara Region PTA, New York State PTA, and the National PTA. Much more information about PTA can be found at the associated websites listed under our "PTA Presidents & Links".
Help make the potential of all Lockport students a reality by supporting your local PTA today! Contact one of our PTA Presidents or visit the PTA sections on the website using the links below.
