Aaron Mossell Junior High World Languages Department Selection
All 6th graders will receive information from our World Languages Department to assist them in making their selection for the world language they wish to study in 7th grade at Aaron Mossell Junior High School. The Lockport City School District currently offers three different language programs:
- French
- Spanish
- Latin
All eligible students will be scheduled to participate in one of these world languages. World Language classes run every other day throughout their 7th-grade year and every day in 8th grade, culminating in a high school credit by the end of their 8th-grade year.
ONLINE CLASS SELECTION FORM: Online enrollment will be open from Friday, January 20th at 7am and will close on Thursday, January 26th at 3pm. Please remember to submit your online Course Selection form as soon as possible as there are limited seats for each language. The number of seats are based on district staffing and scheduling. Each online submission is time-stamped and students will be assigned to languages on a first-come, first-serve basis. Your child will receive their second choice if their first choice is unavailable when the selection form is received. Carefully selecting your top two choices is very important as switching languages is not possible. New York State guidelines require students to study a language for two years at the middle school level and two more years at the high school level for an Advanced Regents Diploma. Please be
advised that while we will make every attempt to accommodate students in their first choice of language, it may not always be possible.
