National Honor Society

  • Advisor: K. Isherwood
The National Honor Society was established to recognize and encourage academic achievement, while recognizing other characteristics essential to citizens within a democracy. The Honor Society contains ideals of leadership, service, and good character which remain as the three main components contributing to acceptance into the NHS itself. In order to gain membership, students must maintain a 90 percent or higher for their overall weighted average. In addition, students complete an application in which they must meet standards of the core beliefs of Leadership, Service, and Character. In addition to the application requirements of providing information such as leadership roles, work experience, recognition, awards, two letters of recommendation, and two essay questions, applicants must complete 20 hours of community service prior to their membership in their chapter of NHS. Students with any questions can visit Room #159A.
