  • Dr. Mathis A. Calvin, III begins March 18, 2023.

Let me first start by sharing with all of you that I am honored to be the new Superintendent of the Lockport City School District. As your new Superintendent I am looking forward to partnering with all of you: our students, parents and/or guardians, families, staff, Board of Education members - trustees, elected officials, civic organizations and business - community leaders. My goal is to make certain that we achieve the district’s motto which asserts that we will celebrate and demonstrate “pride in our past and faith in our future.”

  • The colder weather is here! Please be sure your child is prepared for outdoor recess. This includes a coat, hat, gloves/mittens, boots and snow pants. If your child is not appropriately dressed, his/her activity during outdoor recess will be limited. Parents may also want to consider sending in a change of clothes for their child, as sometimes during recess, children get wet. Read more of the January Newsletter here.

  • The Main Foyer area is almost complete! We are finalizing the last details in an effort to better accommodate your needs when visiting CU. In the upcoming weeks, you will notice our “Visitors” portion has been moved to the left side of the vestibule area and there will be a person at the window to assist you. Your patience and flexibility are appreciated during this transitional time. Read more of the December Newsletter here.

  • I appreciate your flexibility as we navigate a few obstacles with the construction in the front foyer. As we continue to work through this, please know, when visiting CU you should use the entrance to the LEFT in the front of the building. This is different from how we started school in September. As always, the doors will be secured and you will need to buzz in to get assistance from the main office staff. Once all issues are rectified, I will send you another update.
