First and foremost, thank you for your patience and support during the first couple of months of school as we reopened under very unusual conditions. As you know, Lockport’s school reopening plan included both a HYBRID LEARNING MODEL and a FULL REMOTE LEARNING MODEL. At this time, the Lockport City School District learning models will remain the same until further notice.

School Reopening Plan: Schedule Update from Superintendent Bradley, Thursday, August 20, 2020
Following the third parent question and answer session and during the Board of Education meeting, it was decided that LCSD will move forward with the 2-1-2 model as its school schedule for the School Reopening Plan.
This model involves Blue Cohort students attending school in-person on Mondays and Tuesdays, and participating in remote learning on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Students assigned to the Gold Cohort will attend school in-person on Thursdays and Fridays, and participate in remote learning on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
Wednesdays, the "1" in the 2-1-2 model, is a remote learning day for all students, and staff are expected to connect remotely with students on Wednesdays from classrooms/offices. Wednesdays will also be used as an additional mid-week cleaning and disinfecting day.
While there is no perfect model that will satisfy everyone, this model appears to be the preferred model by staff and parents, and it aligns with guidance from NYSED and NYSDOH. It will not be the forever model, but it will serve LCSD the best as we gear up to gradually and thoughtfully reopen our schools in a safe and productive manner.
Thank you for input and patience throughout the process of developing our school reopening plan. It is recognized and very much appreciated.
