Dear Roy B. Kelley Parents and/or Legal Guardians,
I am writing to inform you that earlier today, a student reported that another student had made an alleged threat. Upon receiving this information, school administrators immediately began an investigation in collaboration with the Lockport City Police Department.
By late this afternoon, the investigation was completed. Both the Lockport Police Department and the district determined that the threat was non-credible.
As an added precaution, please know that additional school security will be on hand Wednesday morning to support students and staff. This is part of our district’s standard protocol whenever a situation of this nature occurs.
I would also like to take this opportunity to remind parents and guardians to speak with their children about the importance of avoiding any verbal comments that could be perceived as threatening. Please know that the district takes all threats seriously and investigates each one thoroughly, in accordance with our Code of Conduct.
We are grateful for the continued partnership and swift response of the Lockport City Police Department in helping us maintain a safe environment for our students and staff.
