  • COVID-19 Update New York State's Micro-Cluster Strategy November 13, 2020: As you may know, the COVID-19 infection rate is increasing in Western New York. As a result, Governor Cuomo has instituted a new strategy of monitoring and responding to outbreaks of new cases within a limited and definable geographic area, which are called micro-clusters. Our students, faculty, and staff have diligently followed the established health and safety protocols to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our schools. Despite everyone’s best efforts, the rising community spread of the virus could impact our hybrid instructional model.

  • First and foremost, thank you for your patience and support during the first couple of months of school as we reopened under very unusual conditions.  As you know, Lockport’s school reopening plan included both a HYBRID LEARNING MODEL and a FULL REMOTE LEARNING MODEL. At this time, the Lockport City School District learning models (Hybrid and Full Remote) will remain the same until further notice.

On Tuesday, September 8, 2020, Governor Cuomo announced that the state Department of Health created a dashboard system for schools to send the state information on the district's teaching model, the district's onsite and off site enrollment, and the number of possible COVID cases in a school. The purpose of the dashboard is to display real time data points to the school community on a daily basis, and to use the data for making decisions on school closings and reopenings. The dashboard is located at schoolcovidreportcard.health.ny.gov for your review.
