We believe: All people can learn. Schools create conditions for success academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and aesthetically. Teaching and learning are the shared responsibilities of home, school, and the community. Our mission is to assure comprehensive learning for all so that each person will be a lifelong learner.

While there is no guidance available from the New York State Education Department (NYSED) or Governor Cuomo at this time for the reopening of school in the fall, a district organizational meeting was held on June 16 to begin discussing scenarios for reopening, along with several areas to consider for the safe and effective reopening of schools. NYSED is conducting four regional task force meetings over the next several weeks to gather input from stakeholders across New York State. This will be used to provide guidance to school districts around mid-July.
Once we have a more solid recommended plan for reopening schools in LCSD, along with guidance from Governor Cuomo, NYSED, and federal, state, and local health departments, a meeting will be scheduled for the School Reopening Committee to review guidance documents and discuss a plan for the 2020-2021 school year.
Please continue to check the district website throughout the summer for updated information.
