Confirmed COVID-19 Cases: LHS and NP 3/8/2021

The Lockport City School District (LCSD) was notified by the Niagara County Department of Health (NCDOH) of two (2) positive COVID-19 cases with no exposure to staff or students. The breakdown is as follows:
  • Lockport High School...one (1) positive case with no exposure to staff or students based on the individual's last day in school.
  • Lockport High School...one (1) positive case with no exposure to staff or students based on the individual's schedule on the last day in school.
The Lockport City School District was also notified of two (2) positive COVID-19 cases with possible exposure to staff or students. The breakdown is as follows:
  • Lockport High School...one (1) positive case. The Lockport City School District is fully cooperating with the Niagara County Department of Health (NCDOH) by providing information for contact tracing. The NCDOH will contact any individual who they believe may have been in close contact with the individual.
  • North Park Junior High School...one (1) positive case. The Lockport City School District is fully cooperating with the Niagara County Department of Health (NCDOH) by providing information for contact tracing. The NCDOH will contact any individual who they believe may have been in close contact with the individual.
Lockport High School and North Park Junior High School will operate in the full remote model of instruction for all staff and students on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Wednesday March 10, 2021 Lockport High School and North Park Junior High School will operate as scheduled in the full remote Wednesday model of instruction. Thursday, March 11, 2021, Lockport High School and North Park Junior High School will operate as scheduled with the in-person hybrid model of instruction.  
 
Lockport High School BOCES CTE students will participate in instruction remotely on Tuesday March 9, 2021.

All Lockport High School West staff and students should report as scheduled.

Meals for students may be picked up Tuesday March 9, 2021 from 3PM to 5PM at North Park Junior High School.

The custodial staff in both buildings will clean and sanitize identified areas more thoroughly in addition to daily cleaning and sanitizing protocol. 
 
Symptoms of COVID-19 may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Possible symptoms include:
  1. Fever or chills
  2. Cough
  3. Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  4. Fatigue
  5. Muscle or body aches
  6. Headache
  7. New loss of taste or smell
  8. Sore throat
  9. Congestion or runny nose
  10. Nausea or vomiting
  11. Diarrhea

If you begin to experience any of the above symptoms, please stay home and call your medical provider.

If you are having any of the following symptoms, you should seek immediate medical attention:
  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
  • New confusion or inability to wake or stay awake
  • Bluish lips or face
