UPDATE ON SCHOOL CLOSURE May 1, 2020: On Friday, May 1, 2020, Governor Cuomo announced that public schools in New York State will be closed for the remainder of the academic year. The Lockport City School District will continue to provide distance learning until the end of the year, along with providing meals to children and offering a childcare program to essential workers. The Lockport City School District is in the process of finalizing a plan for students to retrieve items in lockers and desks.

Although schools will remain closed for the remainder of the school year, it is important for students to continue completing assignments. Teachers will continue to provide feedback to students and parents on a regular basis.  A plan for fourth quarter grading will also be finalized in the near future. Special events for the Class of 2020, including the commencement ceremony, are under review.

Finally, the Lockport City School District will begin to develop a school reopening plan for the Fall of 2020.  There will be a focus on safety measures for all, identifying essential learning standards for students, and addressing social emotional concerns that arise. Further information will be released as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, stay safe, be well, and continue to keep up on school work.
