Dear Lockport CSD Families, Staff, and Community Members,
We want to inform you that, beginning August 1, 2025, the Lockport City School District - like all districts across New York State - will implement a new cell phone and internet-enabled device policy in compliance with state law.
This new policy (Policy 7312: Student Cell Phone Use) outlines when and how students may possess or use internet-enabled devices (such as smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches) during the instructional school day. The goal of this policy is to promote a more focused, inclusive, and productive learning environment for all students.
The Lockport City School District is inviting members of the public to submit comments or feedback concerning the Student Cell Phone Use Policy, before it is finalized. Review of this policy will be available until Monday, July 21, 2025. Please note, your name and email are not required to submit the form.
