Dear Aaron Mossell Junior High School Parents and Guardians,

The district was informed that an Aaron Mossell JHS student made comments to peers that could be interpreted as a potential threat. In response, we promptly launched an investigation in coordination with local law enforcement.

After a comprehensive review, the police concluded that there is no credible threat to the school or its community.

We kindly ask that all parents and/or legal guardians speak with their child(ren) about the importance of avoiding statements or gestures that could be interpreted as threatening. Even casual remarks or gestures can lead to unnecessary concern and must be handled carefully.

We are grateful to the Lockport City Police Department for their swift response and continued collaboration. As a precaution, a School Safety Monitor will be present during arrival at Aaron Mossell JHS tomorrow-- which is our standard protocol when any type of threat, credible or otherwise, has been reported.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Principal Dr. Kathleen Bailey for further information at 716-478-4700.

Yours in Education,

Mathis Calvin III, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
