The Lockport City School District, in partnership with Native American Community Services (NACS), invites families, students, and community members to join us in honoring National Day of Truth and Reconciliation & Orange Shirt Day on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 5:00–8:30 p.m. at the Lockport High School Auditorium (Door 3), 250 Lincoln Avenue.
This important evening is an opportunity to come together as a community to learn, reflect, and honor the experiences of Native children and families who were impacted by Indian Residential Schools. Orange Shirt Day serves as a reminder that every child matters and that healing and reconciliation begin with awareness and open conversation.
The evening will include:
Dinner (5:00–6:30 p.m.)
Documentary screening (6:35–7:10 p.m.)
Community Circles (7:15–7:45 p.m.)
Social Dance (7:45–8:30 p.m.)
We encourage families to attend and take part in this meaningful experience. Together, we can foster understanding, compassion, and unity as we acknowledge the past and commit to a stronger future for all.
