Dear Parents and Legal Guardians of Aaron Mossell Junior High School Students,

Earlier today, school officials were made aware of comments made by a student that another student perceived as a possible threat. Out of caution, the district immediately began an investigation in partnership with the Lockport Police Department.

After a thorough review, law enforcement confirmed that there is no credible threat to our school, students, or staff.

Please know that the Lockport City School District responds swiftly and seriously to any report involving student safety. Every concern is carefully investigated in accordance with district safety procedures and the Code of Conduct to ensure a secure and respectful learning environment.

We encourage parents and guardians to take a few moments to remind their children about the importance of their words and actions. Remarks that may seem harmless can easily cause alarm or misunderstanding.

We sincerely appreciate the Lockport Police Department for their swift response and partnership in maintaining a safe school environment. Additionally, per District protocol, extra security will be present tomorrow morning to support students as they return to school.

Thank you for your attention and continued support in keeping our schools safe.

Sincerely,
Dr. Mathis Calvin III
Superintendent of Schools
Lockport City School District
