Dear Aaron Mossell Junior High School Families,

I am writing to share that late this evening, district officials learned of a concern involving a student who had allegedly made comments that could be considered a threat.

Upon notification, district officials immediately began investigating the matter in collaboration with the Lockport Police Department. Shortly thereafter, district officials and the Lockport Police Department determined that the reported threat was not credible.

Please know that the district takes all threats seriously and will thoroughly investigate any such reports in accordance with the District Code of Conduct and established safety protocols.

We ask all parents and guardians to remind their students that any comments or actions that may be perceived as threatening will be investigated fully and may result in disciplinary consequences.

I would like to thank the Lockport Police Department for their continued collaboration and partnership with the district in helping to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff.

As an added precaution and in accordance with district protocol, additional security personnel and police officers will be on hand tomorrow morning as students arrive at school.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Sincerely,
Dr. Mathis Calvin
Superintendent of Schools
