Aaron Mossell Junior High's 8th grade art class celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by learning about the history of Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and Sugar Skulls. After observing the elements of art and analyzing the principles of design that are incorporated into a Sugar Skull, students sketched and designed their own sugar skulls by using plaster gauze and paint.

On Wednesday night, the Varsity and JV Girls and Boys Soccer teamed up with participants from the Elk’s Club Challenger Sports of WNY for an unforgettable evening of fun and sportsmanship. This special league is open to players who face physical or mental conditions that limit their ability to participate in other competitive sports programs. The LCSD Varsity and JV soccer teams welcomed the Challenger athletes with open arms, engaging in goal shooting and skill practice, and building connections through the shared love of soccer. The evening culminated in a spirited 10-minute game, where the players—Varsity, JV, and Challenger athletes alike—showed that soccer is truly for everyone. #WeAllBelong

Friday at AMJHS, students and staff embraced our district's "We All Belong" message during our first annual House Reveal! Every student found their place within a House, emphasizing that no matter where we come from, we are all part of one community. As students learned their House identities, they also connected with peers and staff, building a stronger sense of belonging. Our first House competition brought everyone together, highlighting that through unity, we achieve greatness. Throughout the year, these Houses will continue to foster belonging and inclusivity, celebrating our diverse backgrounds and shared purpose. Ask your student about their House and how they belong! 🏠🌍 House Assignments: Gold 8: Altruismo (Brazil) Lion 8: Amistad (Mexico) Blue 8: Reveur (France) Blue 7: Onraka (India) Gold 7: Isibindi (South Africa) Lion 7: Nukumori (Japan)
