🌍 International Day of Persons with Disabilities 🌟
Observed annually on December 3, this day—established by the United Nations in 1992—aims to promote understanding of disability issues and support the dignity, rights, and well-being of individuals with disabilities.
By raising awareness, we can all play a part in fostering inclusion in every aspect of political, social, economic, and cultural life. Together, let’s celebrate the diverse contributions and talents of persons with disabilities and continue striving for a more equitable and inclusive world. 💙

This week, AMJHS staff had the chance to dive into professional learning sessions led by our amazing instructional coaches! With options tailored just for them, staff could choose their session and join during planning or lunch—making learning work for their busy schedules. 🌟
And we’re just getting started! Round 2 is coming in mid-November, with a special focus on Computer-Based Testing. 🦁💪

Instructional coaches can help embed literacy into science and other content areas by teaching students annotations. Annotations help students develop comprehension skills and pull apart nonfiction text. #LockportLovesLiteracy

Friday at AMJHS, students and staff embraced our district's "We All Belong" message during our first annual House Reveal! Every student found their place within a House, emphasizing that no matter where we come from, we are all part of one community. As students learned their House identities, they also connected with peers and staff, building a stronger sense of belonging. Our first House competition brought everyone together, highlighting that through unity, we achieve greatness. Throughout the year, these Houses will continue to foster belonging and inclusivity, celebrating our diverse backgrounds and shared purpose.
Ask your student about their House and how they belong! 🏠🌍
