Dear LCSD Families and Guardians,
The Lockport City School District remains committed to ensuring that every student, regardless of income, has access to the nutrition and support they need to be healthy, focused, and ready to learn. Whether or not your family is directly impacted, we want to make sure you know about the resources available in our schools and community, both for those who may need assistance and for those looking for ways to help.
Free Breakfast and Lunch for Every Student
Every student enrolled in the Lockport City School District continues to have access to free breakfast and lunch every school day.
All meals meet the nutrition standards established by the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs under state and federal guidelines. Each meal includes a balance of fruits and/or vegetables, a whole-grain-rich item, a protein source (meat or meat alternative), and low-fat or non-fat milk.
By participating in this program, students are guaranteed two nutritious meals each day, supporting both their health and their ability to learn. We encourage all families to take advantage of these daily meal options.

Ways to Help Our Community
For those who wish to support others during this time, there are several meaningful ways to get involved:
Coats4Kids – November 3–16
The Family Empowerment Center is partnering with Coats4Kids and local organizations to collect new or gently used coats for children and adults. Donation drop off locations include:
LCSD Family Empowerment Center (57 Canal Street)
Aaron Mossell Junior High School
Emmet Belknap Intermediate School
Community Partners: Kenan Center, Freedom Church, Grace Chapel, and The Chapel Lockport
Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive – November 1–December 10
Lockport schools and the District Office are collecting peanut butter, jelly, and marshmallow fluff to fight hunger locally. Every contribution helps fill lunchboxes and pantries for families in need.
Food Pantry Support
The district also partners with All Saints Parish (61 Walnut St.) and FeedMore WNY for Thanksgiving food drives and ongoing pantry efforts. Donations to All Saints Parish, FeedMoreWNY or any other local food pantry listed above directly benefit Lockport families and students.
Thank you for your Partnership
Thank you for being part of a community that looks out for one another. If you ever need assistance or would like to help, please reach out to your school or any of the contacts listed above.
Warmly,
Mathis Calvin III, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
