Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am writing to inform you about a situation that came to our attention late this afternoon
involving a Lockport High School student.
District officials, in collaboration with law enforcement, were made aware of a concerning video
posted on TikTok by one of our students. The post included a statement that could be interpreted as a threat toward the school community.
Upon receiving the video, the district worked immediately with the Lockport Police Department
to conduct a full investigation, including a comprehensive threat assessment. Following this
investigation, the threat was determined to be non-credible and officials found that there was no
indication of any actual intent to cause harm.
Please know that the safety and well-being of our students and staff are our highest priorities.
The district takes any potential threat seriously and follows established protocols and utilizes our Code of Conduct to guide our response and disciplinary actions.
As a precaution, there will be an increased police presence at Lockport High School tomorrow.
This is part of our standard procedure when an incident of this nature occurs and is intended to
provide reassurance and ensure a safe environment.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Lockport City Police Department for their
continued support and partnership in handling this matter.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school’s principal, Mrs.
Dawn Wylke, at (716) 478-4501.
Sincerely,
Dr. Mathis Calvin III
Superintendent of Schools
