Today, LCSD recognizes Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and progress.
As we honor this important day in our nation's history, we remain committed to fostering a school community where every student feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.

The spotlight was shining on the Class of 2026 long before they became seniors! In this throwback from Emmet Belknap Intermediate School's production of Annie JR., you'll spot a few familiar faces! Over the years, these students have performed in concerts, musicals, athletic events, classrooms, and countless activities that helped shape their LCSD experience. This production is just one of many memories that remind us how much they've grown.

The Class of 2026 was in 7th grade at North Park when masks, social distancing, and uncertainty were part of everyday school life. Also, a throwback to when Aaron Mossell JHS was called North Park JHS!
In this archived post, students in Ms. Swanson's health classes explored an important question inspired by an article, "Would You Stand Up to Hate?" Through thoughtful discussions and activities, they examined kindness, courage, and the importance of standing up for others.
Looking back at these photos, it's easy to notice the masks. But what stands out even more is the resilience behind them. Now, those same 7th graders are preparing to walk across the graduation stage as the Class of 2026. 🎓

Before they were seniors preparing for graduation, they were 6th graders at Emmet Belknap proudly showing their Lion Pride! As we continue our walk through the LCSD social media archives, we're revisiting moments that capture the spirit, enthusiasm, and sense of belonging that have followed the Class of 2026 throughout their journey.
It's hard to believe these proud 6th graders are now just days away from becoming Lockport graduates. 🎓

From 9th graders to graduates, we've been there for the moments that mattered, Class of 2026! As graduation approaches, we're taking a look back through the LCSD social media archives and revisiting some of the memories we've shared along the way particularly those featuring members of the Class of 2026 during their journey through our schools.
Fun Fact: LCSD didn't launch its official social media presence until the Class of 2026 was in 5th grade.

The LHS Concert Choir and Vocal Jazz Ensemble recently performed at the New York State School Music Association Major Organization Choral Festival. They were evaluated at Level 6, the highest difficulty, and were each awarded the top honor, Gold with Distinction. One of the judges said he never gave so many plusses! Their technique, unity, intonation, and overall performances were extraordinary. Mr. Pacillo is very proud of these young musicians for their hard work over many months.

Congratulations to our MBK (My Brother's Keeper) students from AMJHS, LHS, and LHS West. A celebration of their achievements, which featured an inspiring keynote address by Mr. Antoine Johnson, a program success director for the National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI). Approximately 25–30 MBK members were recognized for their participation and accomplishments throughout the year and received certificates of recognition.

Lockport loves the Buffalo Sabres!

Last week Lockport High School inducted more than 200 students into eight subject area honor societies. Students received faculty nominations and met the requirements of the individual honor societies. Also at the ceremony, 41 juniors received junior awards from various colleges, universities and organizations. Some of these awards include the opportunities for scholarships ranging in value from $1,000 - $30,000 if the student chooses to apply to that institution. Congratulations to all!

Today we recognize the heart of our schools - our incredible nurses 💙
THANK YOU for the countless ways you show up, often behind the scenes, to keep our school community healthy, safe, and supported. We are so grateful for everything you do! 🩺✨
