In honor of Women’s History Month, this March the Lockport City School District is proud to once again celebrate outstanding individuals through our third annual Women Who ROAR Awards- Recognizing Outstanding Achievements and Resilience.
We are now accepting nominations for both community members, and we invite you to take part in this meaningful recognition by nominating a student and/or a community member! Your nominations matter and your voice helps ensure these stories are seen and celebrated.
We are accepting nominations for women from the Western New York community who have made a meaningful impact in areas including, but not limited to, STEM, healthcare, education, the arts, community engagement, and social-emotional wellbeing, and who have a strong connection to Lockport as alumni, parents, volunteers, or advocates.
Who is eligible:
To ensure this recognition remains focused on honoring members of the broader Lockport community, individuals currently employed by the Lockport City School District, members of the Board of Education, and district-contracted employees or consultants are not eligible for this award. For full eligibility requirements, selection criteria, and nomination details, please visit the Women Who ROAR webpage.
Nomination period:
Now through February 20, 2026 (4:00 p.m.)
How to nominate:
Please complete the Community Nomination Form, sharing specific examples that reflect the award criteria.
The Women Who ROAR Committee will meet to discuss the nominations and choose the 2026 winners. Award recipients will be announced the week of March 2, 2026 and recognized at the Women Who ROAR Luncheon on March 31, 2026, from 12:00–1:30 p.m. at the Lockport High School Auditorium.
