Friday at AMJHS, students and staff embraced our district's "We All Belong" message during our first annual House Reveal! Every student found their place within a House, emphasizing that no matter where we come from, we are all part of one community. As students learned their House identities, they also connected with peers and staff, building a stronger sense of belonging. Our first House competition brought everyone together, highlighting that through unity, we achieve greatness. Throughout the year, these Houses will continue to foster belonging and inclusivity, celebrating our diverse backgrounds and shared purpose.
Ask your student about their House and how they belong! 🏠🌍
House Assignments:
Gold 8: Altruismo (Brazil)
Lion 8: Amistad (Mexico)
Blue 8: Reveur (France)
Blue 7: Onraka (India)
Gold 7: Isibindi (South Africa)

Did you know that Lockport High School received a “School of Excellence” status from The New York State Public High School Athletic Association Inc. (NYSPHSAA) for the 2023-2024 school year?!
This award is granted to high schools whose varsity teams average GPA for 75% of the roster is greater than or equal to 90%. During the 23-24 year, THIRTY teams within the Lockport City School District were selected as Scholar Athlete Teams by the State.
Congrats to all of our scholar athletes! Thank you for making LHS a School of Excellence!

🎶🎷 Several Lockport students recently participated in the Summer Honors Band Program hosted by Starpoint CSD! 🎺
This fantastic program brings together band students from Starpoint, North Tonawanda, Roy-Hart, and Lockport, ranging from grades 4-9. Our very own Lockport music teachers, Timothy Martin and Naomi Moore, played key roles in coordinating and teaching the bands during the two-week program.

Check out McKenna's beach adventures in Ocean City, Maryland where she bravely held a rather large horseshoe crab 🦀 McKenna is starting as a 7th grader at Aaron Mossell Junior High this fall.
Summer is all about creating unforgettable memories. What have you been up to this summer, Lions? Share your adventures with us using #SummerofLions!

Now and then, we have the pleasure of celebrating our amazing staff and highlighting the fun things they're up to during the summer months. Last week, Emmet Belknap's Physical Education Teacher, Mrs. O'Neil, embarked on her first Empire State Ride—a 7-day journey from NYC to Niagara Falls—to raise funds for cancer research at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Institute. She rode an impressive 569 miles and raised $6,219 to help end cancer.
Mrs. O'Neil draws daily inspiration from her 16-year-old daughter and husband, both of whom are cancer survivors. Their strength fuels her commitment to this important cause.
