Lockport High School seniors took part in mock interviews with community volunteers from fields like engineering, communications, education, and more! ✨ Students practiced both in-person and virtual interview skills to prepare for their future career paths.
🖐️✨ Mrs. Cacicia's first-grade class at Charles Upson brought science to life with a fun and creative lesson about bones! Students traced their hands, drew their bones, and filled them in with oil pastels to create stunning "x-ray" art. They also built models of the human skeleton, learning how bones support and protect our bodies. What a fantastic way to explore anatomy through art!

Lockport City School District will conduct an emergency early dismissal drill on Friday, November 1, 2024. All students K-12 will be dismissed 15 minutes early. Bus riders may arrive home earlier. Before and after school programs will run as usual, but all other after-school activities are canceled except for sectional playoffs. Please plan for your child’s early dismissal and ensure your family is prepared for future early dismissals due to emergencies.

Kindergarteners are learning about the Elements of Art at Charles Upson. They are proud to show off all their skills by demonstrating various lines.
Problem-solving is so important in STEM. Students worked with partners to figure out ways to solve cup challenges. They learned that brainstorming different ways to solve a problem is an important step. As a group students tried several solutions and sure everyone participated!
The George Southard community partnered with the Lockport Police Department and raised over 1,164 food items to donate to Feedmore of WNY. It was a fierce competition between Ms. Kane and Ms. May's class, but Ms. Kane's class came out on top with 162 items donated. What a fun way to give back to the community.
Third graders at Roy B Kelley rounded out Hispanic Heritage Month by learning about a traditional Mexican art form in art class. They studied the process of creating Amate paper from bark and the characteristics of these paintings. Students drew their Amate-inspired art including beautiful birds, nature imagery, and repetition using neon oil pastels. The best part was checking out how their masterpieces glow under blacklight!

Lockport High School presented the first Student Spotlight Awards of the 2024-2025 school year. Honored for September from the technology department were: Adienne Cardy, Khen Goorbaran, Callie Groomes, Tristan Kraft, Benjamin Potocki, Juliana Santoro, Caleb Stevens, William Sutt, Fox, Szatkowski, and Isabelle Wyant.
The Student Spotlight Award is given to students for their contributions to the "Lion Proud, Lion Strong" philosophy by modeling the pillars of character, community, citizenship, respect, trustworthiness, caring, and responsibility. A student can also be selected for this award because they have made significant improvements in the subject area. #HighFiveLCSD
Aaron Mossell Junior High's 8th grade art class celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by learning about the history of Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and Sugar Skulls. After observing the elements of art and analyzing the principles of design that are incorporated into a Sugar Skull, students sketched and designed their own sugar skulls by using plaster gauze and paint.
This is a reminder that there will be no school on Monday, October 14, 2024, in observance of Indigenous Peoples'/Columbus Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
Mrs. McDowell’s Science class compared the scientific method and engineering design processes, then worked through designing solutions to save Hermy the Wormy! Students tested, improved, and redesigned their ideas while practicing lab protocols, teamwork, and communication. #LCSDacademics
