This week, we welcomed an amazing group of 35 new educators into the LCSD family!
🌟 Their staff orientation included an exciting tour of all our schools, giving our new teachers a taste of the vibrant and welcoming community we have here in Lockport.
🌍 Fun Fact: This talented group hails from Lockport and as far as Florida, bringing a wealth of diverse experiences. Whether they’ve traveled across state lines or grew up right around the corner, they’re all here to make a positive impact on our students’ lives.
Photographed are each of the new hires with their building principals. Stay tuned as we get to know them better—there’s so much to look forward to this school year! 🦁💙 #WeAllBelong

Anna Merritt's 2nd graders enjoyed the day playing at Outwater Park. They ended their fun by enjoying ice cream brought by the ice cream truck!

Yesterday, our elementary school halls were filled with joy, nostalgia, and inspiration as seniors donned their caps and gowns for the cherished LCSD Senior Walk. 🦁❤️
Teachers greeted their former students while little lions cheered for the graduates they’ve looked up to for years. 🌟
This tradition celebrates our journey of growth, learning, and community. WE ALL BELONG.
Congratulations, seniors – the best is yet to come! 🎉🎓
Reminder: Graduation is at Artpark on Thursday, June 27 at 6 pm.

We kicked off with a hilarious fun run, featuring our amazing teachers sprinting in costumes that had everyone laughing and cheering. Students then ran with older LCSD students to encourage them along the way!🏃♀️🏃♂️🎭
But the fun didn’t stop there! After the run, they cooled off with an epic foam party that turned the school grounds into a bubbly wonderland. 🎉🫧
And just when the students thought it couldn’t get any better, the Lockport Firefighters came out to give students a refreshing spray when the sun was hot, keeping everyone cool and smiling. 🚒☀️💦
A huge thank you to everyone who made this day unforgettable!

Lockport City School District is pleased to announce the release of its new strategic plan: We are Lions. We all Belong.

It was Harvest of the Month in the cafeteria this week. K-6 students were offered a Taste Test featuring a new Creamy Yogurt Dip with cut veggies. Did you know that simply serving a fun dip with vegetables is a great strategy to eat more of them? It keeps veggies flavorful and makes them more satisfying. Thank you, Food Service & Wellness teams, for helping us get in our veggies! Be on the lookout in February when we get to sample a beet-infused applesauce. Beautifully pink and full of vitamins!
