FEC Workshop: Creating Family Safety Plan

Creating your family communication plan starts with one simple question: What if? Learn what to do if you are not with your family or cannot reach them during an emergency situation. Experts from Niagara University Border Community Service will also discuss what to have on hand in your home and vehicle and what to have in preparation for an emergency situation or extreme conditions.

Presented by the Juvenile Task Force, in collaboration with local law enforcement and the Niagara Police Athletic League, this award recognizes students who lead by example with their positive actions.

Anna Merritt Elementary hosted their first ever Turkey Trot before Thanksgiving too! For 3rd grade, Brynn C, Faline G, Harper G, Bryson T, Loyal S, and Christian C all placed in the top finishers. For 4th grade, Layla D, Malayah F, Laila V, Lee J, Brayden M, and Reed Baldwin let the way for the group. Congratulations to all who participated!

This Thanksgiving season, our elementary students embraced creativity, gratitude, and fun! Mrs. Garis’ kindergarten class read Turkey Trouble and cleverly disguised turkeys with help from their families to keep them safe from Thanksgiving dinner. At Anna Merritt, third graders enjoyed their annual Friendsgiving, celebrating their classroom family and sharing what they’re thankful for, including friends, school, and teachers, all while enjoying a delicious feast. To top it off, students got into the holiday spirit by dressing up as turkeys, bringing smiles and laughter to the celebration! 🦃🍂

Bullying and Promoting Wellness for Students with Disabilities

In this VIRTUAL workshop, parents, caregivers, or educators of children with disabilities learn to recognize the signs of a bullying situation and how to talk to a child. Learn about the supports and services that can be built into the Individualized Education Program (IEP) to promote social growth and well-being.

This just added to Literacy Night: Touch a Truck by the City of Lockport Fire Department. They are bringing two fire trucks and an ambulance to LCSD's Literacy Night.
